Guwahati's National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, NIPER has come out with two products for helping to fight COVID-19 pandemic. The first product is a 3D-printed hands-free object that could be used to help open or close doors, windows, drawers, etc. The second product is a 3D-printed antimicrobial face shield ti control the spread of Coronavirus.

The 'Tour of Duty' scheme for the Army is meant to allow civilians, including young working professionals, to join the force for three years as officers and in other ranks in areas like logistics and front-line formations. Age and fitness will be among key criteria for recruitment under "Tour of Duty"
